These were a really fun project and they turned out so cool! WHAT YOU NEED: -DRIFTWOOD PIECES (used a combination of found sticks, a bag of Joann Fabrics driftwood & etsy) -ACRYLIC PAINT -PAINT BRUSHES -YARN or STRING -BEADS PREP: I prepped the driftwood pieces by drilling holes in the middle of every stick. Make sure you use a drill bit big enough to get the yarn through ;) I also would recommend sanding the wood so that it's ready to paint. We used 7 pieces of driftwood to make our mobiles. I found it to be the perfect number for the composition and it seemed to be just the right amount to keep the kids interest. I set the kids up with 6 paint colors to try and keep a strong color story for their mobiles.
After the kids painted their sticks, I asked them to lay them out in the order they liked. They placed the beads in-between where they liked. I cut long pieces of yarn. Tying a loop at the top for a hanger and taping the end of the yarn so that it was easy for the kids to thread through the beads and driftwood. We then strung the pieces of driftwood and beads a couple at a time. Adding double and sometimes triple knots in the yarn so that the driftwood and beads wouldn't fall down the yarn. We also added pom-poms on the ends for fun!
